Sustainability Manager

Chiswick Park is a 1.8 million sq. ft. business campus managed by Estate Management Company EnjoyWork, which proposes a regular programme of events and concierge services dedicated to over 10,000 workers from 72 companies. Job purpose:

Enjoy-Work has a very strong legacy in delivering and developing sustainability initiatives for over 15years. The role of Sustainability Manager is to proactively engage with all key stakeholders and take the lead on further developing, implementing, and reporting on our Energy Management and Waste Recycling programmes specifically, as well as supporting the development, delivery and reporting of our wider ESG strategy and initiatives, as we strive to the lead the way for the next 15 years.

Key accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement our Sustainability business strategy plan
  • Support in the communication and stakeholder engagement for all areas within the ESG strategy
  • EW Insights: Support in the reporting function working alongside EW Senior Managers
  • Review the business strategies for our key impacts and recommend solutions and targets for reductions in:
  • Energy and Water Management
  • Waste Management
  • Identify, recommend and lead improvement initiatives based on gaps, opportunities, requirements, global trends and sector benchmarking
  • Design strategies and deliver programs to increase internal and external stakeholder engagement, awareness and commitment to sustainability Manage and deliver sustainability reporting in compliance with industry standards, guidelines and frameworks (including ISO26000, ISO14001, SDGs)
  • Oversee sustainability report development, ensuring alignment with trends, stakeholder input & concerns and business strategy & directions
  • Identify and support opportunities to communicate case studies externally, with support of the PR & Community Manager, via various channels and materials
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices.
  • Perform benchmarking activities for internal and external stakeholders
  • Update internal documents, databases, factsheets, guidelines, FAQs
  • Preparation of presentations for webinars, meetings and reports and assist in writing submission documents. Hosting and presenting at guest company forums, key stakeholder meetings, as well external conferences, and events
  • Monitor research and developments in the field
  • Ability to submit entries for ESG Industry awards such as ESG, Sustainability & ESG and Green Apples
  • Exploration and review of ESG membership accreditations
  • To provide expert advice, developing and implementing policies and procedures in conjunction with promoting sustainability projects
  • To champion sustainability and work to embed sustainability across all our activities
  • To be the ‘go to’ lead person for all advice and guidance on sustainability both corporately and operationally.
  • Ensure organisation remains compliant in relation to sustainability and environmental legislation, regulations, code of guidance and establish and implement a cycle of regular reviews and monitoring updates
  • Drive continuous improvement, value for money and capture innovation
  • Lead on devising, developing and implementing new policies and procedures relating to sustainability
  • Undertake project management of particular sustainability programmes and take a lead role in any existing programmes
  • Develop strong partnerships with other stakeholders as relevant to include local, regional and national businesses in the field of sustainability
  • Budget management, as allocated in-line with EW annual SC budgets
  • Guest Experience – working in collaboration with the Head of Guest Experience by supporting the planning, developing, implementation and delivery of this key focus area for the business including Events & Sports in-line with the business strategy
  • Other ad-hoc duties as may be required as part of the operations team and/or the overall business

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reporting to: Operations Director
  • Working alongside: the Operations Team, consisting of Technical Services Manager, Estate and Services Manager, Guest Relations Managers, Projects and M & E Manager and Operations and Health & Safety Coordinators
  • Supporting our Head of Guest Experience, Events Experience Manager, Marketing Team and PR & Community Manager
  • Working alongside our Departmental Team Managers and the wider team

Personal Attributes:

  • Minimum 3years of demonstrated experience in a sustainability related role
  • Excellent understanding of Sustainability and ESG strategic approaches and advisory tools
  • Practical experience in Sustainability reporting
  • Knowledge of current international sustainability tools and trends and their application in business
  • Understanding of key sustainability issues and how they can be integrated into business to create measurable value
  • Knowledge of sustainability requirements of local legislation, standards and best practice
  • Customer facing experience
  • Ability to prioritise within a multi-tasking environment, flexibility and attention to detail
  • Innovatively driven
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Good analytical skills – Critically analyse data to improve quality of deliverables and proposed solutions. Accuracy and attention to detail required
  • Good IT skills in all Microsoft Office applications
