Final Span Lifted at Chiswick Park Footbridge

The new 135m public footbridge completed its steel erection, with the final 140 tons section lifted into position on Sunday 7th October. The bridge will further enhance the location of Chiswick Park creating faster access to Chiswick Park Underground station, improving journey times to central London with direct access to the Piccadilly line and more frequent District Line trains.

Construction work began last year after an agreement was signed between Chiswick Park, the London Borough of Hounslow, the London Borough of Ealing, Network Rail and Transport for London. Construction of the bridge deck will continue this month alongside electricity installation, lights and landscaping. The project is on track for completion in December 2018.

Whilst Chiswick Park already enjoys quick and easy connection to main roads, railway networks and international airports, the footbridge will boost its West London location and bring the diverse shops and restaurants of Chiswick High Road even closer. It will also reinforce Chiswick Park’s positioning as a key workplace destination for world-leading companies.

The countdown has begun for the long-awaited inauguration of the Chiswick Park footbridge. With over 9,000 guests working daily and over 80,000 visitors per year, providing easy access to our business campus is essential. With the opening of the footbridge, Chiswick Park will be immediately connected on each side by Underground and Overground networks. This will make a huge difference to both workers and local residents.

The introduction of the Elizabeth Line at Ealing Broadway next year will also improve Chiswick Park’s connectivity.
