One year ago today, we inaugurated our 135m pedestrian bridge at Chiswick Park.
Since then, the new bridge has allowed the Guests faster access to Chiswick Park Underground Station, reducing the walking time to just 4 minutes.
By creating a faster access to Chiswick Park Underground station, the footbridge has improved journey times to central London, with direct access to the Piccadilly line and more frequent District Line trains.
Construction work began in 2018 after an agreement was signed between Chiswick Park, the London Borough of Hounslow, the London Borough of Ealing, Network Rail and Transport for London. It was then opened in January 2019 and named best infrastructure project at the 2019 AJ Architecture Awards.
Chiswick Park is served by two direct Underground stations on each side of its Campus: Gunnersbury Station and Chiswick Park Station.
Last year, 22% of the Guests commuting via public transport used the footbridge on their way in and/or out of work.
“The footbridge is very popular with some of our 10,000 guests and visitors. It has brought us even closer to the local community. One year on, we are very proud with the final product, not to mention that its simple and elegant design beautifully compliments our Campus”, said Matt Coulson, CEO Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work.
